The LikePhate Story

In 2010, something happened to LikePhate Founder Phil Bowyer; he wrote a book.

This isn't really all that unusual, people do it everyday. The thing that makes this story unique is that Phil never thought about being an author. He was a "web-guy". He helped people market themselves on the Internet. About the same time he finished his book, his wife began to take her writing career seriously. Unlike her husband, she always thought about a career in writing.

Phil looked into self publishing, and found Amazon "DTP" (now renamed to KDP). He uploaded his book, and watched as people bought his book. It was slow at first, but in December, he added his Social Media Strategies to the Barnes & Noble Nook roster.

His sales doubled.

By the end of 2010, he was networking with other writers, and began to combine the world of marketing and writing. The first half of 2011 was spent writing his second book and developing strategies for authors. Phil developed a system for ebook formatting, which he turned into a class.

In mid August, Isolation: A Cursed Soul by Kate, his wife, was released on Amazon and B&N. Kate wanted her book to be a true worldwide release, but Amazon only sells in the UK, US and Germany. She also needed a way to easily provide freebies and discounts, neither of which is available on Amazon & Barnes and Noble.

In early August, Phil began work on a different kind of Publishing company. One that serves not only the traditional author, but a new breed of author- the small business.

In late August, LikePhate signed it's third author, Pibs Tandy. Pibs is an author who also likes to do things different by taking the erotica genre to a new level.
